Plugin licence
This licence is between you and DigMusiK Ltd (company number 16671712). It covers the DigMusiK Sound Signature Plugin, the capture assistant, signatures delivered through it, and standalone plugins made by creators on DigMusiK (together, the "software"). It forms part of our terms of service.
1. What you may do
- We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the software on devices signed in to your DigMusiK account (2 devices on Free, 3 on Studio, 5 on Pro), to make music and audio for any purpose, including commercial releases, film, games and broadcast.
- Audio you process with the software is yours. You don't owe us or creators anything for music you make with it.
- You may use signatures and creators' plugins your plan or purchases allow, for as long as they allow.
2. What you may not do
Except where the law expressly allows it and can't be excluded, you may not:
- copy, sell, rent, lend, share, publish or otherwise distribute the software, signature files or creators' plugins;
- decrypt, extract, convert or export signatures or the models inside creators' plugins, or try to recreate them by systematically recording their output to train another model;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the software, or remove or alter any owner marks or licence checks;
- get around device limits, sign-in or licence checks, or share an account;
- use the software to build a competing product or service.
Nothing here restricts what UK law permits, such as decompiling to achieve interoperability under the conditions the law sets.
3. Sign-in, licence checks and offline use
- The software signs in with a code you approve in your account. It checks your account when it starts and regularly while online. It keeps working offline for up to 14 days between checks, so you can work on flights and in studios without internet.
- Signatures and creators' plugins are encrypted for your authorised devices and carry an invisible mark identifying the licensed account. These protect creators and help us trace leaks; they don't change the sound in any audible way.
4. Updates
We provide updates to keep the software working with supported operating systems and DAWs, fix problems and add features. Some updates are needed to keep using online features. We'll support each plugin version for at least 12 months after a newer one is released.
5. Creators' plugins
Standalone plugins made by creators are licensed to you by DigMusiK on these terms, on the creator's behalf. Their creators are responsible for their descriptions and content; we check ownership of the hardware they're made from.
6. Ending the licence
The licence ends if your account is closed or you seriously break these terms. When it ends, the software stops working for your account and you must uninstall it. If we close the service, the arrangements in section 17 of our terms apply.
7. Quality and responsibility
The software must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If it isn't, you're entitled to a repair or replacement, or if that's not possible, some or all of your money back; see cancellations and refunds. If defective digital content we supply damages your device or other digital content, and we failed to use reasonable care and skill, we'll repair the damage or compensate you. Section 18 of our terms covers the rest of our responsibility.
8. Third-party components
The software may include open-source components, listed with their licences in the plugin's About window. Those licences apply to those components.
