Notice and takedown
We respect the rights of musicians, engineers, manufacturers and software developers. This policy explains how to tell us about content on DigMusiK that you believe infringes your rights or breaks our rules, and what happens next.
1. Quick reports
Signed-in members can use the Report link on any signature, plugin or profile. Choose a reason and add details. When several members report the same signature, it's hidden automatically while we review it.
2. Formal notices (copyright, trademark and other rights)
Email support@digmusik.com with the subject "Takedown notice", including:
- your name, organisation (if any) and contact details;
- the right you believe is infringed (for example, the copyrighted work or the registered trademark and its number);
- the address (link) of each signature, plugin or profile concerned;
- why you believe the use isn't authorised;
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights owner or authorised to act for them.
We acknowledge notices within 2 working days and normally act within 5 working days. Where a notice is clear and complete, we may remove or hide the content straight away while we review it. We tell the uploader, share the notice with them (removing personal details you ask us not to share), and explain how they can respond.
3. Manufacturer opt-out
If you make equipment or software and don't want your products listed in DigMusiK's public catalogue or used in our research models' names, email us from your company's domain with the products concerned. We'll confirm within 5 working days. Once confirmed, public signatures crediting those products become link-only, our research models stop using your product names, and new public listings crediting them are blocked.
4. Counter-notices
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, for example because you own the unit or have permission, reply to our email within 14 days with an explanation and any evidence. We'll review it and may restore the content, telling the person who made the notice. Some disputes have to be resolved between the parties, and we may keep content down until they are.
5. Repeat infringement
We close the accounts of members who repeatedly infringe others' rights, and withhold payouts for affected sales while a dispute is open.
6. Illegal content
For content that may be illegal (not only infringing), use the Report link or email us. We remove illegal content as soon as we're aware of it and report it to the authorities where the law requires.
7. Misuse
Please only send notices you believe are accurate. Knowingly false notices may be unlawful, and we may stop acting on notices from people who repeatedly send them.
