DigMusiK

Terms of service

Version 2026-11-03 · Last updated 3 November 2026

The short version. DigMusiK lets you capture the sound of your gear as signatures, use signatures in our plugin, and (on Pro) sell plugins of hardware you own. You own your captures. You must only capture gear and chains you have the right to use, and you must name and credit them honestly. Plans renew until you cancel, which you can do at any time. Nothing in these terms takes away your legal rights as a consumer.

1. Who we are

DigMusiK is operated by DigMusiK Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 16671712, whose registered office is in Shrewsbury, SY4 3LD, United Kingdom ("DigMusiK", "we", "us"). You can contact us at support@digmusik.com.

2. This agreement

These terms apply when you use digmusik.com, app.digmusik.com, the DigMusiK Sound Signature Plugin (the "plugin"), signatures, and any related service (together, the "service"). They work together with:

If anything conflicts, the more specific document wins for its subject. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

3. Accounts and eligibility

  1. You must be at least 16 to create an account, and at least 18 (or have the permission of a parent or guardian) to buy a plan or a creator's plugin. You must be 18 to sell.
  2. Give us accurate details and keep them up to date. Keep your password and sign-in codes private; you're responsible for activity on your account unless it happened because of our failure.
  3. One person per account. Studio and education accounts with several users are available by agreement.
  4. Tell us straight away at support@digmusik.com if you think someone else has used your account.

4. Plans, billing and renewal

  1. Plans. We offer Free, Studio (£7.99 a month) and Pro (£29.99 a month). What each plan includes is shown on our pricing page at the time you subscribe, including monthly capture allowances (3, 10 and 25) and how many signatures you can use. A capture with working knobs counts as 3 captures.
  2. Prices and VAT. Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies. Your card provider may convert them into your currency and may charge you for doing so.
  3. Payment. Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't see or store your full card number.
  4. Renewal. Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period, and we take payment for the next period, until you cancel. We'll remind you before each renewal (and at least 3 working days before any annual renewal or the end of any free trial) with the price, the date and how to cancel.
  5. Price changes. We'll tell you at least 30 days before a price change takes effect on your plan. If you don't want to continue at the new price, you can cancel before it takes effect.
  6. Allowances. Capture allowances reset each billing period and don't roll over. A capture that our checks reject, or that fails on our side, doesn't count.
  7. Free plan. On Free you choose 5 library signatures to use and may change your choice once per calendar month. Free captures are trained when spare capacity is available, so they can take longer.
  8. Free trials and offers. If you join with a partner's link or code, your first month of Studio or Pro is a free trial. A card is needed; we remind you at least 3 days before the trial ends, and if you cancel before then you aren't charged. One trial per person, and not for anyone who has already had a paid plan. Free plans given to partners or by us end on the date shown in your account; they don't turn into paid plans unless you choose one.
  9. Failed payments. If a payment fails we'll tell you and try again. If it still can't be taken after 14 days, your account moves to Free; your own captures are kept.

5. Cancelling

  1. You can cancel a paid plan at any time from your account page, in a few clicks, without having to contact us. You keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for.
  2. As a consumer you also have the legal right to cancel within 14 days of first subscribing. Our cancellations and refunds policy explains how this works, including what happens if you've started using the service in that time.

6. The plugin and your devices

  1. The plugin is licensed, not sold, under the plugin licence.
  2. You sign the plugin in to your account using a code shown in the plugin. You can sign in on 2 devices on Free, 3 on Studio and 5 on Pro, and you can sign devices out from your account page.
  3. Signatures only run inside the plugin while it's signed in to an account allowed to use them. The plugin checks your account regularly and keeps working offline for a limited period between checks.

7. Captures and your content

  1. What you upload. When you capture, you send us recordings of our reference signal played through your gear or plugins ("renders"), a description of the chain, and the settings used. We train a signature from them.
  2. Your rights and promises. For each capture you confirm that you own (or are allowed to use) every piece of hardware and every software licence in the chain, that your use of them to make the capture is allowed by their licences, that the name and credits you give are accurate, and that you're not uploading anyone else's audio other than our reference signal. We record these confirmations with the date and time.
  3. You own your captures. You keep all rights you have in your renders and in the signatures made from them. You give DigMusiK a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, train on, convert, protect and deliver them, and to make previews, so we can run the service, for as long as they're on DigMusiK and for a reasonable time afterwards for backups. If you share or publish a signature, the licence includes making it available to the people you've chosen.
  4. Training data. We use your renders to train your signature. We don't use your renders to train other people's signatures or general models unless you opt in.
  5. Plugin binaries. Never upload plugin files, installers or code. We only accept audio renders.
  6. Accuracy. We publish each signature's measured accuracy. A signature is a model of a chain, not the chain itself; it can differ from the original, especially outside the settings it was captured at.
  7. Deleting. You can delete a capture at any time. We remove its renders and signature files from our systems within 30 days (backups within 60 days). Copies already bought by others as part of a creator's plugin remain licensed to them.

8. Sharing and publishing

  1. Each signature is private unless you share it by link or publish it to the catalogue (Studio and Pro).
  2. Only signatures rated Good or better can be published to the catalogue.
  3. Published signatures must name the sound and credit every piece of gear in the chain. Titles can't be only another company's product name; use the unit's name with your own description (for example "My 1972 1176, Rev D").
  4. Manufacturers can ask us not to list their products in the public catalogue ("vendor opt-out"). If a vendor opts out, public signatures crediting its products become link-only.

9. The library and research models

  1. The DigMusiK starter library includes "research models": signatures DigMusiK built from published technical sources about well-known equipment, not captures of the manufacturer's units and not products of the manufacturer. They are labelled "Research model". Product names identify the equipment they're modelled on; see our trademark notice.
  2. Signatures labelled "Verified real unit" were captured from a specific unit whose ownership the creator has verified with us.

10. AI matching and previews

  1. AI chain matching suggests signatures and settings by measuring audio you provide. Suggestions are a starting point; you decide what to use.
  2. Only upload audio for matching or previews that you have the right to use. We process it to give you the result, keep it for no more than 24 hours, and don't use it for anything else.

10A. The partner programme

Studios, producers, engineers and creators can share DigMusiK and earn commission under our partner programme terms. Partners must say when they're promoting DigMusiK as a paid partnership.

11. Selling plugins

Pro members can build and sell standalone plugins made from signatures of real hardware they own. Selling is covered by the creator agreement, including ownership verification, the 60% creator share, payouts and tax. Signatures made from software plugins can't be sold.

12. Buying creators' plugins

  1. DigMusiK sells creators' plugins to you and takes your payment. Each plugin's page shows its price including VAT, any trial or limited free version, and what it does.
  2. A creator's plugin runs with your DigMusiK account. You need an account (a Free account is enough) to keep using it. If your account is closed for breaking these terms, plugins you bought stop working; if we close the service, see section 17.
  3. Your rights if a plugin is faulty, and our refund policy, are in cancellations and refunds.

13. Rules of use

Please follow the acceptable use policy. In particular, don't infringe anyone's rights, don't upload illegal or harmful content, don't try to copy, extract, decrypt or reverse-engineer signatures or protected plugins except as the law expressly allows, don't get around limits or licence checks, and don't misuse other people's accounts.

14. Our intellectual property

The service, the plugin, the signature engine, the reference signals, the research models and our branding belong to DigMusiK or our licensors. Apart from the rights these terms give you, nothing transfers to you. DigMusiK and the DigMusiK logo are our trademarks.

15. Reports and takedowns

Anyone can report a signature, profile or plugin that they believe infringes rights or breaks our rules, using the Report link on its page or by following our notice and takedown policy. We review reports promptly, may hide content while we do, and tell the uploader what's happened and how to respond.

16. Suspension and closure

  1. You can close your account at any time from your account page.
  2. We may suspend or close an account, or remove content, if we reasonably believe you've seriously or repeatedly broken these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect other users or the service. Where we can, we'll tell you why and give you the chance to respond first. If we close a paid account without fault on your part, we'll refund the unused part of your plan.

17. Availability and changes

  1. We work hard to keep the service running and secure, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may need to pause it for maintenance.
  2. We may improve or change the service. If a change significantly reduces what your paid plan includes, we'll tell you at least 30 days ahead and you can cancel and get a refund of any prepaid amount for the period after the change.
  3. If we ever close the service, we'll give at least 90 days' notice, refund prepaid amounts for the time after closure, and provide a final version of the plugin that keeps signatures you own or bought working on your devices without online checks.
  4. We may update these terms. We'll tell you at least 30 days before changes that affect you take effect. If you don't agree, you can close your account before then.

18. Our responsibility to you

  1. If you're a consumer, we must provide the service with reasonable care and skill, and digital content that is as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. Nothing in these terms limits those rights or our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.
  2. We're not responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable when you agreed to these terms, or for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control.
  3. If you use the service for business, we're not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business or opportunity, and our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid us in that period and £100.
  4. Back up your own sessions and projects. Signatures don't modify your audio files, but plugins run inside software we don't control.

19. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you're a consumer you can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or in the courts of the part of the UK where you live. If you live in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country. Please contact us first: most problems are resolved quickly by email.
